Honda has outsourced the development of its new vehicle program to India-based Tata Technologies, which is owned by the same conglomerate that owns Jaguar Land-Rover (JLR), and also builds the world’s most efficient electric vehicles. The decision marks a significant change in operations for the Japanese automaker, which has historically kept its core engineering and platform development in-house or strictly within its legacy supplier network.
According to Bloomberg, the Tata-engineered platform is being designed for versatility. It is expected to underpin multiple upcoming car models and is specifically intended to accommodate both conventional internal combustion engines and next-generation electrified powertrains, spanning hybrids and fully electric vehicles.

Automobili Lamborghini will once again use Monterey Car Week to present its latest models. Bugatti Destrier, the third one-of-one creation of the Bugatti Programme Solitaire
Built on the Bolide’s carbon fiber monocoque, Destrier introduces a fresh chapter in Bugatti’s design vocabulary. The signature Bugatti C-line, traditionally an unbroken curve of brightwork framing each side, “breathes” – pausing just before the front wheel well, allowing bare bodywork to show through before resuming its path to intersect with the horseshoe grille.
The horseshoe grille, wider than on the Bolide, anchors a face defined by restraint rather than aggression. At the rear, details such as the elegant blended wing echo the Chiron Profilée, closing the silhouette with the same quiet grace.
It is in Destrier’s stance that the wonder of this Solitaire is most obvious. The Bolide’s extreme package allows the cabin to crouch low between the two front wings, giving the car the posture of a powerful horse poised to pounce, even at a standstill. Behind the doors, the bodywork draws inward into a dramatic waist before swelling out over the rear wheels into a powerful hip to create an extreme body posture normally reserved for dramatic initial design sketches, rather than fully formed production models. The Bugatti Destrier will be unveiled during Monterey Car Week, culminating in the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on August 16, 2026.
Porsche enhances the driving experience of the Taycan with the E-shift option –
An active, emotive element that brings virtual gear changes, gear shift kicks and acoustic feedback. The software-based technology simulates an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, involving the driver more closely in the electric sports car’s power delivery. The instantaneous responsiveness of an electric powertrain is among its greatest strengths. Torque is available without delay, and acceleration is delivered with virtually no interruption in power delivery.
Thanks to its new E-Shift option, Porsche simulates an eight-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) transmission that can be operated either manually via the steering wheel paddles or automatically. Each gear change is accompanied by distinct interruptions to the otherwise seamless acceleration, a centrally positioned rev counter that climbs to 7,500 rpm, and a specially developed sound concept. Through E-Shift, Porsche is demonstrating how software-defined features can expand the driving experience for those behind the wheel of an electric sports car.

Engineers at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory have successfully freed up power on Voyager 2, extending how long the spacecraft can continue to do science.
Nicknamed the “Big Bang,” the effort involved simultaneously turning off certain powered devices and substituting them with lower-power alternatives while ensuring the spacecraft remains warm enough to operate.
The Voyagers get their power from radioisotope thermoelectric generators, devices that convert heat from decaying plutonium into electricity. Due to the plutonium supply continually depleting, both probes lose about 4 watts of power each year. After almost a half-century since launch, the spacecraft power margins have grown razor thin, requiring the team to conserve energy by shutting off non-essential devices and systems.

Mercedes-AMG expands the model family of the recently introduced four-door GT Coupé. The new entry-level model combines unmistakable AMG DNA with state-of-the-art technology, outstanding everyday usability, and dynamic long-distance comfort.
Two powerful synchronous motors in the Mercedes-AMG GT 53 4-Door Coupé together generate up to 400 kW (544 hp) of peak power, ensuring effortless acceleration in every driving situation. The electric drive unit with a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PSM) on the rear axle boasts an efficiency of 93 percent from battery to wheel on long journeys. The electric motor on the front axle (PSM) acts as a “boost” drive. Depending on the driving situation and driving program, it is activated via a disconnect unit (DCU), for example, when there is a corresponding demand for power or when traction is needed. Under light load, the electric motor is decoupled almost instantly and comes to a standstill for the sake of greater efficiency.
Together, the two electric motors deliver a peak output of 400 kW (544 hp) and a maximum torque of 800 Nm. Continuous output is a confident 270 kW (367 hp). The GT 53 4-Door Coupé accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds . The electronically limited top speed of 230 km/h can be increased to 250 km/h with the optional AMG Driver’s Package.
Public EV Charging Station Rollout in Indonesia
Indonesia’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources announced it is accelerating the development of public electric vehicle charging stations (SPKLU) in line with the “2025–2030 Public EV Charging Station Development Plan.
The government has also streamlined the business licensing process for charging station operators and is encouraging private sector participation through diversified business models.
