(Oilandgaspress) 16/07/26, ABB Ltd (“ABB”) announces that it has agreed with Rotork plc (“Rotork”), a well-established global provider of mission-critical intelligent flow control solutions and a leading independent manufacturer of electric actuators, the terms of a recommended cash offer for the entire issued and to be issued share capital of Rotork. The transaction is expected to further strengthen ABB’s focus on electrification and automation and expand its Automation business area’s offering for large and complex infrastructure and industries.

Under the terms of the offer, each Rotork shareholder would be entitled to receive 503 pence in cash per Rotork share, representing a premium of around 60% to Rotork’s latest 3-month average share price. The transaction implies an enterprise value of around $5.5 billion, reflecting an EV/Sales (2025 actual) multiple of around 5.3 as well as an EV/EBITDA (2025 actual) multiple of around 19.5x with the latter reducing towards the ‘mid teens’ level when accounting for anticipated synergies.

Rotork shareholders will also be entitled to receive an interim dividend for the period to June 30, 2026 of up to 3 pence per Rotork share (the “Permitted Dividend”) without any reduction to the offer value. Related News

Electric two-wheeler sales are accelerating as penetration reaches 10.6%. Here are three listed players positioned for India’s EV growth story.
India’s electric two-wheeler (E2W) market is moving from early adoption to rapid scale-up.

What was once a niche segment is steadily becoming a meaningful part of the country’s automobile industry. E2W sales increased by 22% from around 11.5 lakh units in FY25 to over 14 lakh units in FY26. During the same period, market penetration improved from 6.6% of total 2W sales, up from 6.2% in FY25.

The strong growth has carried into FY27. E2W sales crossed 5.3 lakh units by the end of June 2026. This means the industry has already achieved nearly 38% of FY26’s total sales in just the first three months of the financial year. In June, E2W penetration deepened further to 10.6%. Related News

BP reportedlyBP has reported further strength in its trading business as it continues to profit from a surge in oil prices.

The oil major said it expects oil trading to be slightly higher in the second quarter than in the first, when it flagged an ‘exceptional’ performance as prices surged amid the Middle East conflict. said it expected to write down the value of its low-carbon and energy transition division by a further $1bn, on top of a $5bn write-down it booked earlier this year. BP warned that it expects upstream production to fall in the second quarter to between 2.17million and 2.22million barrels of oil equivalent per day (boed), compared with around 2.34million boed in the first quarter. ABB is acquiring Advantics, a specialist provider of Silicon Carbide-based power conversion solutions based in France. The acquisition expands ABB’s Direct Current (DC) portfolio and positions the company to serve accelerating demand for efficient DC solutions across data centers, industrial microgrids, power generation and EV infrastructure. Financial terms were not disclosed. The transaction is expected to close by Q4 2026.

The IEA expects electricity’s share of final energy consumption to rise from 20 percent today to around 36 percent by 2035. By using advanced semiconductor technology to control more of this electrical power, ABB’s DC solutions minimize repeated AC/DC conversion and maximize efficiency.

The acquisition of Advantics adds a high-efficiency Silicon Carbide power conversion technology to ABB’s broader DC portfolio, strengthening the building blocks needed to design, protect, convert, distribute and manage power in new electrical architectures with higher power density, resilience and efficiency. Combined with ABB’s expertise in protection, distribution, digital control and system-level engineering, the acquisition supports the development of DC systems that maximize efficiency, energy storage and flexible power sources.
