Arab Gas Pipeline explosion
The Arab Gas Pipeline was rocked by an explosion in the early hours of July 22 at al-Tuwail, east of the coastal Sinai town of al-Arish, at a point before the pipeline splits into separate branches to Israel and Jordan.
It was reported that unknown gunmen in a light truck placed explosive charges under the pipeline. The explosives were then detonated from a distance.
The pipeline has been shut since April with no gas flows to either Jordan or Israel.
