Egyptian Oil Industry Poised to Support South Sudan Growth
Egypt’s Petroleum Minister H.E. Tarek El-Molla will speak at the South Sudan Oil and Power 2019 (SSOP) conference alongside South Sudan Minister of Petroleum Hon. Awow Daniel Chuang; South Sudan’s Ministry of Petroleum calls for oilfield technology companies from Egypt and globally to optimize oilfields, increase production and improve environmental performance; Together South Sudan and Egypt produce 850,000 barrels of oil production per day – almost 90 percent of the entire production of the Nile Basin region of north-east Africa; Under the theme ‘Focus on Finance’, SSOP 2019 is poised to create investment opportunities across the energy value chain.
Egypt is in position to take a leading role in overhauling South Sudan’s oil production, with Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum agreeing to speak at the South Sudan Oil & Power conference on October 29-30.
The announcement comes in the wake of a major new oil discovery in the Adar oilfield in Block 3 containing more than 300 million barrels of recoverable oil.
With a major focus on ramping up its oil industry during a period of peace, South Sudan is recovering its position as a major African producer and is actively creating a favourable investment climate through high level discussions with energy leaders, ministries and companies at South Sudan Oil & Power 2019, produced by Africa Oil & Power (AOP).
Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum H.E. Tarek El-Molla will speak at the conference alongside South Sudan’s Minister of Petroleum Hon. Awow Daniel Chuang. The conference takes place under the auspices of South Sudanese President H.E. Salva Kiir. Together South Sudan and Egypt produce 850,000 barrels of oil production per day – almost 90 percent of the entire production of the Nile Basin region of north-east Africa.
