Gazprom and Royal Dutch Shell
Alexei Miller, the top executive at Gazprom, welcomed his Shell counterpart Peter Voser to his Moscow office to discuss global cooperation.
Both sides during the meeting signed an agreement to work bilaterally on a number of European and Russian projects.
“This agreement is a vivid example of the mutually beneficial development of strategic partnership between the world’s largest energy companies,” Miller said in a statement. “Ahead of us, we have new large-scale projects and growing joint presence in new markets.”
Shell and Gazprom agreed to form a working group to examine the exploitation of hydrocarbons in Russia and work on developing distribution networks in their respective markets.
“Russia is an important area for new energy development for Shell and I expect it will play a big role in meeting the world’s growing demand for oil and gas in the years ahead,” Voser said in a statement.
