Lasi-Ungheni pipeline -Romania
Moldova’s section of the Iasi-Ungheni gas pipeline will be finalised by 15 August 2014, according to Minister of Energy Razvan Nicolescu.
In a conference on the issue of energy strategy of Romania he stated:
‘The first phase of the project will allow an exchange of gas between Romania to the Republic of Moldova of approximately 14,000 – 15,000 cubic metres per hour, which means 1-2% of the total production of Romania’
According to the department for energy, in the first phase, the pipeline will transport 14,000 – 15,000 cubic metres per hour, and the second phase,the capacity will reach 1.5- 2 billion cubic metres per year.
