McDermott awarded two Saudi Aramco projects

The first project, known as Karan-45, McDermott will fabricate a new wellhead platform, auxiliary platform, jacket and link bridge in the Gulf. It is scheduled to be complete in the first quarter of 2014.
“As we near completion of the 39 structures originally awarded under the Karan contract in March 2009, the experience gained has given us an in-depth knowledge of the specific field characteristics and project requirements,” Steve Johnson, McDermott’s president, CEO and chairman, said in a statement.
In the second project, McDermott, will procure flexible flowlines and perform the fabrication, transportation and installation of pipelines. It is scheduled to be complete by the first quarter of 2013.
According to McDermott International Inc, the new projects, which are in the Arabian Gulf, will be included in its second quarter 2012 backlog.
