NNPC staff plan nationwide strike following FG announcement of NNPC's unbundling

Members of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation NNPC have commenced a nationwide strike following yesterday’s announcement by the Federal government that the oil corporation will be unbundled into 7 units. The oil workers got to work this morning and could not access their various offices according to various media reports.
Oil workers, under the aegis of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) and the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), said they were not consulted before decisions of the unbundling exercise were taken and this is unacceptable to them.
