Oil prices up
Oil prices rallied on the news that two rockets have hit and damaged Sabity, an Iranian oil tanker in Red Sea near a Saudi Arabian port city.
WTI crude up 2.11 per cent to $54.68
Brent crude up 2.22 per cent to $60.41.
OPEC daily basket price stood at $58.71 a barrel Thursday, 10 October 2019 compared with $58.65 the previous day, according to OPEC Secretariat calculations.
The incident occurred close to Jeddah, and left the Sabity with extensive damage that has seen oil leak into the sea, according to Iranian news agency , ISNA.
“Experts believe it was a terrorist attack,” ISNA reportedly stated
Oil is spilling into the Red Sea but the vessel’s crew are safe.
Sabity, is reportedly owned by National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC).
