Technip Wins $400m Khafji Deal
Technip was awarded a $400m contract by Khafji Joint Operations for the Khafji crude-related offshore projects.
Under the contract, the scope of work covers installation of two integrated wellhead jackets, two power distribution platforms, a main composite submarine cable, infield cables, a new living quarters platform and a control room.
Technip will perform the overall project management, while fabrication, transportation and installation activities will be subcontracted to China Offshore Oil Engineering Corporation.
The project started in the third quarter of 2010 and is expected to be complete within 36 months.
The Khafji field is in a neutral zone between Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
