Trump Imposes 30% U.S tariff on solar panel imports

Implementation starts in 15 days. The decision comes after the independent U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) determined that imports of solar panels and washers had hurt American companies. Tariffs will be in place for three years and will taper down in 5% increments over a three-year span, ending at 15% by 2022. U.S. solar panel manufacturers Suniva and SolarWorld had reportedly filed a petition last year with the ITC to investigate the sale of solar panels marketed well below typical U.S. prices. The 30% tax will be applied to imported solar panels, most of which come from China. About 260,000 Americans work in the solar industry, up 24% from 2015, according to the International Renewable Energy Agency. oilandgasOil and Gas News Undiluted !!! “The squeaky wheel gets the oil” Report your news Follow us: @OilAndGasPress on Twitter | OilAndGasPress on Facebook Disclaimer Most News articles reported on OilAndGasPress are a reflection of what is published in the media.
