U.A.E., Tajikistan joint committee discuss cooperation
The first meeting of the U.A.E. and Tajikistan Joint Committee discussed here on Monday new avenues for cooperation in various fields that include the economy, investment, trade, energy, oil and gas, transport, agriculture, culture and others.
Faris Mohammed Al Mazrouei, the Assistant Foreign Minister for Security and Military Affairs, and Qasim Qadri, a senior Tajik official, discussed ways of developing relations between the two countries during the meeting, which was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Al Mazrouei said the meeting was an important opportunity to raise the level of mutual relations and to explore new avenues for cooperation in many fields, namely, in economy, trade and investments.
He also revealed that the volume of trade exchange between the U.A.E. and Tajikistan stood at AED 73.6 million during the first 8 months of 2012, adding that the U.A.E. looks towards expanding future cooperation and exploring more investment opportunities to boost common interest between the two countries.
“The U.A.E.’s unique advantages, such as its strategic location, its developed infrastructure, high-end services as well as its fast and efficient track record for project completion, can all be utilised in future collaborations between the two nations”, Al Mazrouei added.
For his part, the Tajik official thanked the UAE for good hospitality and well-preparation for the meeting.
