Applied Seismology Consultants appoints New General Manager
Lee Clarke has been appointed as the General Manager and Director of Applied Seismology Consultants Ltd (ASC), the Shrewsbury-based microseismic specialist, part of the Itasca International group of companies.
With more than 25 years working in the energy, mining and environmental sectors, Dr. Clarke (50) has a broad range of general management, commercial, operational, and strategy experience.
His key responsibility will be to continue to grow the company, already a leader in the science of passive seismology for the engineered environment including microseismicity and acoustic emission, developing opportunities to expand into new markets.
Prior to joining ASC, Dr. Clarke was General Manager of Forewind Ltd, the international consortium developing the Dogger Bank offshore wind concession, potentially the world’s largest offshore wind project. He has also held senior strategy and management positions in global energy businesses.
“Applied Seismology Consultants is at a very exciting point in its history,” he said. “Microseismic monitoring and interpretation is an important technique with the potential to reduce the cost of oil and gas production, particularly for unconventional reserves. Our business is at the leading edge of developing new ways to process geological data, combined with better modelling and superior software tools. It is a privilege to be joining such an innovative business.”
ASC has been based in Shrewsbury, UK for over 16 years and has been part of Itasca International Inc. since 2009.
Former General Manager, Teresa Young, is retiring from the business. Itasca’s CEO Loren Lorig said, “We thank Teresa for her dedication and service, which has seen ASC grow over the years and become a very important part of Itasca International. We wish her well on her retirement from the business.”
