Baltimore campus of MITAGS-PMI to offer Chief Mate and Master assessments independent of courses in February 2016

Glen Paine, Executive Director of the Maritime Institute of Technology & Graduate Studies and the Pacific Maritime Institute (MITAGS-PMI), announced the Institutes have been certified to provide the CMM mariner assessments that will be required when the 2010 STCW Amendments go into full force 1/1/17. This is in addition to the Officer in Charge of a Navigational Watch (OICNW) assessments (NVIC 12-14) approved in September 2015.

Paine stated. “It is one more step in our journey toward continued excellence.”
Additionally, MITAGS offers a structured STCW Chief Mate / Master (CMM) Training Program. According to MITAGS’ Director of Training, Eric Friend, “Taking the CMM Program is the best way to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to succeed at the management level. We have more than eighty, highly experienced instructors to help candidates prepare for their careers.”
