CEPSA has acquired a 30% interest in an exploration block oil in Liberia, the West African coast. This is the Block LB-10, operated by Anadarko Liberia Block 10 Company, a subsidiary of Anadarko Petroleum Corporation headquartered in The Woodlands, Texas, United States.
The agreement type “farm out” states CEPSA in the drilling of two exploration wells before August 2016. The block is located in an area of deep water, in this case ranging between 1,000 and 2,000 feet deep. Anadarko has extensive experience as an operator in this basin africana.Las other companies involved in the block are Japan Liberia Petroleum and Repsol.
This investment allows us to take another step in the portfolio of offshore blocks of CEPSA joining the two exploration blocks in which the Company participates in the coasts of Brazil and Surinam , and several blocks of exploration and production in Thailand and Malaysia.
This operation is part of the expansion strategy of our company in the exploration and production and provides an opportunity to increase our technical capabilities this time in the area of West Africa.
