Fathom Solutions, Iraq North Oil Company and OGDCL Pakistan to lead workshop at Pipeline Summit
Pipelines transporting crude and refined petroleum, oil, natural gas and biofuels are the most valuable assets. The integrity of the pipes weakens through constant corrosion, ageing, third party damage or even lack of inspection.
Oil, Gas and Petrochemicals are the most sought after energy resources globally. Pipelines transporting crude and refined petroleum, oil, natural gas and biofuels are the most valuable assets. Needless to say that over time the integrity of the pipes weakens either through constant corrosion, ageing, third party damage or even lack of inspection. Highlighting the latest issues and solutions with pipeline integrity, the 3rd Annual Global Pipeline Integrity Management Summit commences on 27th May 2013 at the Park Rotana Hotel in Abu Dhabi.
A pre-summit workshop on day one will help delegates gain better knowledge of the latest technologies and advancements in pipeline management and inspection. Conducting the first workshop of the day will be Noor AlNahass of Fathom Solutions. AlNahass will conduct a workshop on integrated pipeline integrity management using advanced software applications. The workshop will cover how integration is a first step to increasing ROI and advance applications enabling pro-active integrity management. The workshop is organised by Fathom Solutions, silver sponsors at the event, who offer Subject Matter Expert Modules (SME Modules) allowing engineers to peek into the future of their operations and solve critical failures before they occur.
The second workshop of the day will look into ‘Third Party Damage Intervention of Pipeline’. Damage to pipeline by third party intervention is a major factor in reportable incidents for pipelines. Conducted by Alaa Alasady of Iraq North Oil Company, the workshop will look into intervention and reducing third-party threats to pipelines. Alasady is also the Executive Director of Eternal Fire Centre for Oil Development and Buildup(EFCODB), a non-profit organisation to develop the oil industry in Iraq in all areas and discipline. The final workshop for the day will be lead by Muhib-e-Asghar Mehdi, Head of Facilities Integrity Assessment Section at the OGDCL Qadirpur Gas Field in Pakistan. He will address the advances in Pipeline Pigging and In-line Inspection tools. The workshop will look into a vast array ranging from advances in intelligent pigs to managing of radioactive debris.
Over the next two days, the summit is scheduled to speaker representation from ADCO, ADNOC, Iraq North Oil Company, Qatar Petroleum, Egyptian LNG, Velosi Asset Integrity amongst others. The summit sees support from the Pigging Products and Services Association (PPSA) who play a major role in providing information and sourcing equipment and services to pipeline operators
