Keeping Things Running: The Evolution of Plant Maintenance

International companies are opening manufacturing, production plants and factories in Brazil. Nissan has opened one of its largest outfits in Brazil and General Electric Co. (GE), the biggest maker of power-generation equipment, plans to invest 500 million reais ($245 million) through 2018 in a Brazilian research center to develop energy and transportation infrastructure technologies. With the recent industrial development in the region, well established plant maintanence is the key to better plant efficiency and thereby sustain productivity. As maintenance teams become aware of better practices in theory, the need arises to align, tailor-make & implement the cog-wheels of proactive reliability change to their individual process. Plant Reliability and Major Maintenance to be held on 3 – 4 December 2013 at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil will bring a perspective on how to make theoretical change for success into a working model.
The forum is centered on the theme Keeping Things Running. The 2-day program will be packed with plant maintenance case studies, technical, regulatory & management presentations, knowledge-sharing discussion groups & structured question and answer sessions. Presentations focus on improving reliability in heavy industry; covering topics such as effective maintenance organization, productivity, equipment reliability, process safety audit, predictive/preventive maintenance and much more. The forum will cover industries ranging from Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Renewable Energy, Power Generation & Automotive. The key sessions to be held on are predictive and preventive maintenance, plant process safety audits & reliability centred maintenance. Attendees will learn how to execute successful and leaner shutdowns.
Worker’s safety which is one of the major challenges faced during plant maintenance will be address in form of a workshop on ‘Plant Safety Audit and Process Safety Management’. This will assist the delegates to evaluate and develop their department’s Process Safety Management (PSM) performance, using important safety assessment tools. A special turncoat session on ‘Have You Let Go of Run-to failure?’ will explores two expert point of views for vs. against reactive maintenance. The Plant Reliability and Major Maintenance forum will help the Shutdown/Turnaround Planners, Maintenance Planners, Reliability, Engineering Maintenance minimise downtime and breakdowns with perfect preventive and corrective practice.
