Pipeline Simulation Conference Comes to Baltimore, Maryland
Once a leading port of entry to the United States for immigrants, Baltimore will see an influx of pipeline simulation experts, researchers and vendors from around the world to attend the Forty Fifth Annual Conference of the Pipeline Simulation Interest Group (PSIG). The PSIG, recognized as the premier technical organization in in the field of pipeline simulation technology, will conduct its meeting 6th-9th of May, 2014 at the Sheraton Inner Harbor Hotel.
Since 1969, PSIG has hosted an annual conference to provide a forum for members from major oil & gas companies, specialized consultants, and academia, to highlight and exchange the latest information on pipeline simulation technology used for pipeline design, management and operations optimization. As Dr. Ivor Ellul, Chairman of the PSIG, states, “the informal atmosphere, the diverse technical resources that are in attendance and the challenging debates that take place during the PSIG meeting are conducive to new ideas and new technological advances to be made.”
This year’s conference will feature tracks on Gas System Modeling, Leak Detection, Multi -Phase & Liquid Pipelines, and Optimization. PSIG is also pleased to announce a two (2) day Pipeline Simulation course just prior to the conference. The course, covering Pipeline Flow Equations, Fluid Properties, Multi-Phase Flow in Pipelines and Real-Time Systems & Leak Detection, will be conducted by Dr. Jason Modisette, Dr. Jon Barley, Dr. Ivor Ellul and Ed Nicholas.
