The 1st National Forum for the Gabon Oil & Gas Industry receives full support from the Ministry of Petroleum and Hydrocarbons
The Ministry of Petroleum and Hydrocarbons today has pledged its full support to the inaugural Gabon Oil & Gas Forum, taking place on May 6-7, 2014. Organised by The Energy Exchange, the launch of the Forum comes at a time when Gabon’s oil industry is on the brink of a new golden age. The country, which has recently discovered pre-salt blocks, has a $20 billion pipeline of major infrastructural projects planned for completion by 2016, and has a target for state infrastructure investment from 2011-2026 of circa $21 billion. Commenting on the launch of the Forum, Etienne Dieudonné Ngoubou, Minister of Petroleum and Hydrocarbons said: “Gabon Oil and Gas Forum aims to be a platform for business, offering all our partners an ideal framework for considering their investments from a strategic perspective of the hydrocarbon sector.”
The main theme of the 2 day Forum is to provide an opportunity to discover the potential of the sedimentary basin of Gabon, interact with experts from the Administration to better support business projects in Gabon, and to understand the provisions of Gabon’s petroleum code.
