TotalEnergies to ease its customers energy cost burden in France
The rise in oil and gas prices on world markets has weighed on the purchasing power of French people, especially the most modest, for whom heating is a major item of expenditure and the essential car to get around. This is why TotalEnergies is mobilizing in France by taking two solidarity measures aimed at reducing their gas and fuel bills:
A “gas cheque” of €100 for its gas customers in fuel poverty. This €100 check will concern approximately 200,000 of its gas subscribers and will take the form of a discount on their next bill. It will be paid to its gas customers who have benefited from government “energy vouchers” in 2021, thus doubling the amount of aid in December.
A €5 discount for a 50-litre fill-up (i.e. €0.10 per liter of fuel) at the 1,150 TotalEnergies service stations located in rural areas, for 3 months. This discount on gasoline and diesel will be available at checkout starting February 14. The list of TotalEnergies stations, which concerns municipalities with less than 6,000 inhabitants and the axes connecting them, will be available on the TotalEnergies website this weekend: . Overseas TotalEnergies stations are also concerned.
“In March 2020, at the start of the Covid-19 crisis, TotalEnergies mobilized to support hospital healthcare staff in France by providing them with fuel vouchers. Today, while the energy markets are experiencing strong increases, we have decided on new solidarity actions to help our most affected customers to meet their gas and fuel bills: both our gas customers the most precarious who have to deal with the increase in their heating bill during this winter period, but also our customers in rural areas for whom the use of the car is essential in everyday life”, declared Patrick Pouyanné, Chairman and CEO of TotalEnergies .“TotalEnergies shares the daily lives of millions of customers at home and on the road, which is why we want to concretely express our support to those who need it most. »
These two solidarity measures will be effective from February 14, 2022 in mainland France and represent a contribution of approximately 50 million euros, equivalent to 30% of the margin of gas, electricity and fuel supply activities in France.
