Sipchem to allocate feedstock for blue ammonia project

London, 27 September, 2023, (Oilandgaspress) – Sahara International Petrochemical Co. (Sipchem) received on Sept. 26 the Ministry of Energy’s approval to allocate the required quantities of feedstock to set up a blue ammonia plant (low carbon) in Jubail Industrial City, with a capacity of 1.2 million tons per year.

Sipchem will utilize the most efficient energy and feedstock technologies, the petrochemicals producer said in a statement to Tadawul, adding that it will announce any related updates.

The company also highlighted the Ministry of Energy’s continual efforts to help achieve Saudi Arabia’s target to become a leading clean energy producer and exporter, through enabling and supporting the sector’s national companies that will directly contribute to Vision 2030.
