Kia Announces May 2025 Global Sales Results
London, June 03, 2025 , (Oilandgaspress) Mepax –––Kia Corporation today announced total global sales of 269,148 units in May 2025, a 1.7 percent increase year over year. Sales were supported by the launch of new models, including the EV3 full-electric SUV – named World Car of the Year at the 2025 World Car Awards – as well as the EV4 full-electric sedan and the Tasman pickup truck. These additions complemented strong demand for the company’s core SUV lineup, including the Sportage and Seltos.
Kia SUVs led the company’s sales in May, with the Sportage SUV selling 48,091 units globally. The Seltos SUV backed up this strong market performance with sales of 26,017 units, followed by the Sorento SUV, which sold 21,889 units.

Sales outside of Korea
Sales outside of Korea, excluding special purpose vehicles, were up 2.6 percent compared with the same period in 2024, to 223,817 units.
In markets outside of Korea, the Sportage SUV led the brand’s momentum, recording 42,796 sales, followed by the Seltos SUV with 21,760 units. Combined sales of the K4 and K3, also known as Forte in some markets, totaled 17,641 units.

In May, Kia sold 45,003 units in the Korean market, a 2.4 percent decrease compared with the same period last year.
The Sorento SUV led the company’s passenger vehicle sales in its home market, with 7,734 units sold in May. The Carnival MPV followed, with sales of 6,651, while the Sportage SUV recorded sales of 5,295 units.
