Mercedes AMG unveils the CONCEPT AMG GT XX in a full-throttle celebration of performance and legacy

With cutting-edge technology, consistent, lasting power output and hyper-fast charging, the concept vehicle offers an impressive insight into a forthcoming four-door series-production sports car from Mercedes‑AMG. A bold technology programme wrapped in emotionally charged design, the CONCEPT AMG GT XX forges a whole new dimension of performance.
To bring that vision to life, Mercedes‑AMG staged a premiere unlike any other on the streets of its hometown. Affalterbach shed its quiet village character and was reborn as “Affasterbach”, a city which celebrates performance, ambition and legacy. The transformation paid tribute to the brand’s deep motorsport roots, with a gas station reimagined as a Formula 1 pit lane, legendary AMG models lined up in grid formation and adrenaline-fuelled show moments along the route. From racing lights to checkered flags lining the streets, every detail echoed the intensity of a Grand Prix weekend, reimagined as a celebration of electric innovation. The event merged the precision of a race day with the spirit of a family gathering, welcoming not only VIP guests and media, but also the people who build AMGs every day. The world premiere roared to life as Mercedes‑AMG Petronas F1 drivers George Russell and Kimi Antonelli took the stage to discuss AMG’s relentless pursuit of performance. Actor Gabriel Macht then joined third driver Valtteri Bottas and was introduced as the new Mercedes-AMG brand ambassador, embodying the brand’s ambitious spirit.
Anticipation built as the long-awaited CONCEPT AMG GT XX was unveiled in dramatic fashion – high above Affalterbach, with sweeping views of the serene countryside providing a striking contrast to the high-energy reveal. Moments after the CONCEPT AMG GT XX was revealed, the approximately 3,500 guests on site were treated to another surprise as global superstar Alicia Keys took the stage with a special performance tailored for the occasion. The evening continued with dynamic sets by world-renowned DJs Martin Garrix and Steve Aoki, electrifying the Home of AMG and bringing the celebration to a powerful close.
Among the invited guests were numerous friends and fans of AMG, celebrities, industry leaders and A-list personalities from sports, fashion, music and entertainment. Among those joining the festivities were Roger Federer, will.i.am, Noel Robinson, Kevin Trapp, Izabel Goulart and many more. The AMG workforce, affectionately known as the “world’s fastest family”, celebrated the world premiere together with them.
Making his debut as the new official brand ambassador for Mercedes‑AMG was actor Gabriel Macht. Known globally for his iconic role as Harvey Specter in the hit series “Suits”, Macht perfectly embodies the brand’s core value of ambition – a quality that resonates deeply with AMG’s identity and its forward-looking electric strategy. In his role, he will appear at various communication touchpoints for AMG.EA.
The charging performance likewise sets new benchmarks. The CONCEPT AMG GT XX achieves a very high average charging power of more than 850 kW at 1,000 amperes over a wide range of the charging curve. To match the vehicle’s charging performance, the Mercedes‑Benz Charging Unit worked in close collaboration with its partner Alpitronic, who developed the first charging station able to transmit such a high current via a standard CCS cable.
