UK Hosts First Clean Energy Jobs Fair in North East

More than 100 schoolchildren and students attended the UK government’s first Clean Energy Jobs Fair on Thursday, co-hosted by the North East Mayor, Port of Tyne and the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero. The event followed the government’s Clean Energy Jobs Plan, bringing together businesses, universities and colleges to showcase career opportunities in clean energy.

Energy Secretary Ed Miliband and regional leaders attended the event, highlighting the North East’s role as a major clean energy hub. The fair coincided with the launch of Great British Energy’s £300 million supply chain fund to support UK-made offshore wind components and job creation.
