Shell approves Kaikias waterflood project in US Gulf

(Oilandgaspress) Shell Offshore has taken final investment decision on a waterflood project at its Kaikias field in the US Gulf of America to boost oil recovery and extend the life of the Ursa platform. Water injection is expected to start in 2028, supporting higher recovery and prolonging production in the Mars Corridor.

Shell is the leading deep-water operator in the US Gulf of America, where our production has among the lowest greenhouse gas intensity in the world.
