20 Dec Aramco Europe celebrates valve Guinness World Record
(Oilandgaspress) Aramco Europe and Orion Valves have celebrated the Guinness World Records certification of the largest wedge gate valve ever built.
The feat was marked at an event held at the Trieste headquarters of the Italian valve manufacturer, which was attended by some 600 participants, including various stakeholders.
The valve, which is destined for an Aramco petrochemical project in Saudi Arabia, stands 14 meters tall, weighs 120 tons and has a 114-inch bore diameter.
A wedge gate valve is a particular kind of shut-off valve used commonly in high-temperature and high-pressure environments such as petrochemical plants.
Aramco Europe collaborates with leading valve manufacturers supplying equipment and machinery to ongoing energy infrastructure projects worldwide.
