Tesmec Group awards tenders for a total value of €71m with Slovenian Railways

(Oilandgaspress) -Tesmec S.p.A., a company at the head of a leading group in the market of technologies dedicated to infrastructure (overhead, underground and rail networks) for the transport of electricity, data and materials, as well as technologies for quarrying and surface mining, announces the signing, through its subsidiary Tesmec Rail S.r.l., of two contracts for a total value of Euro 71 million with SŽ-Infrastruktura d.o.o., the company responsible for the traffic management, maintenance and management of the public railway network in Slovenia.

The two contracts, each with a duration of 4.5 years and a total value of Euro 71 Euro million, cover the supply of 21 technologically advanced vehicles to support the management, maintenance, and safety of the Slovenian railway infrastructure, in line with the European standards. These orders confirm the Group’s ability to transform the know‑how developed in Italy into competitive solutions on a European scale, capitalizing on the investments made in the platform, which is now used as a modular and scalable product for multiple markets in the Railway sector.

In detail, the Tesmec Group will supply, under a contract worth approximately Euro 52 million, 15 high-performance railcars for railway infrastructure maintenance, designed to ensure safety, operational efficiency and full compliance with European standards, while through a contract, of approximately Euro 19 million, the Group will supply 6 working vehicles for catenary maintenance, including a hybrid vehicle equipped with battery technology capable of significantly reducing emissions and noise.

The official signing ceremony took place today at the Ljubljana Railway Station, in the presence of Alenka Bratušek, Slovenian Minister of Infrastructure, Matjaž Kranjc, General Manager of SŽ-Infrastruktura, Dušan Mes, General Manager of SŽ, and of Ambrogio Caccia Dominioni, Chairman of Tesmec. The event was also attended by Giuseppe Cavagna, Ambassador of Italy to Slovenia.
