RWE secures 6,373 MW of capacity agreements

(Oilandgaspress) – The T-4 Capacity Market auction has concluded, for delivery in 2029/30. The EMR Delivery Body (NESO) has announced that the capacity auction has cleared at £27.10/kW/year, and 40,108.608 MW of capacity has been secured for Great Britain.

A provisional list of the GB assets that have successfully secured an Agreement can be viewed here. This information is still subject to Secretary of State approval.

RWE has secured agreements for all of the Capacity Market Units (CMUs) that were entered into the auction. This means RWE has 6,373 MW (derated) of capacity agreements beginning in the 2029/30 delivery year.

RWE has been successful in securing T-4 agreements for a range of technologies including: 17 1-year agreements and four 3-year refurbishing agreements for the gas fleet and another 16 1-year agreements for the hydro, wind and battery storage CMUs which were entered. Additionally, one 15-year agreement was secured for a battery storage project. Both battery storage CMUs will be co-located with solar.
