“Dark Mode Ads” is Plenitude’s new communication project designed to reduce the energy consumption of digital advertising across its Italian stores and in its advertising campaigns in Italy, Spain and France. Plenitude will switch all LED screen creativities to dark mode, achieving energy savings of up to 74% compared to the traditional display of the same images.
LED screens in shop windows and digital out-of-home advertising light up cities day and night to capture the attention of passers-by. A powerful visual impact that, however, requires energy. Plenitude has chosen to challenge this paradigm, demonstrating that dark mode makes it possible to maintain strong screen visibility while at the same time reducing energy consumption.
The change starts with colors themselves. Darker tones consume less energy, as each pixel requires less power to reproduce them. This is also confirmed by a study conducted by Certimac, an independent research institute commissioned by Plenitude: color tones have a direct impact on the amount of energy required by LED screens.
As part of this initiative, developed in collaboration with the creative agency LePub, Plenitude will switch to dark mode the LED screens in its store windows as well as its Digital Out of Home (DOOH) advertising spaces, encouraging other brands, advertisers and players across the advertising industry to join the project. To support this, a technology platform developed by LePub is available to everyone, automatically converting creatives into dark mode while preserving their visual effectiveness.
The first public demonstration took place in the brightly lit Plaza Callao in Madrid, one of the most iconic locations for digital communication in Europe, and simultaneously in Rome, in the Castel Sant’Angelo – Lungotevere Prati area, and in Paris, in the pedestrian zone of La Défense – iconic cities in countries where Plenitude is also present with its retail operations. Joby Aviation, Inc., a company developing all-electric aircraft for commercial passenger service, and Air Space Intelligence (ASI), a leading U.S.-based aerospace and defense software company, announced a partnership to accelerate the integration of advanced air mobility (AAM) into the U.S. National Airspace System.
Building on ASI’s Flyways AI Platform – an open AI-powered airspace intelligence platform that uses high-fidelity 4D modeling to optimize flight operations – Joby and ASI plan to work together to advance how scaled eVTOL operations can be safely integrated into dynamic, increasingly complex and high-traffic airspace. Joint demonstrations, including live operational exercises, are expected later this year. With the FAA’s Brand New Air Traffic Control System (BNATCS) set to form the foundation for the next generation of air traffic management, the partnership will also explore how more automated, software-defined approaches to airspace coordination can enable increasingly autonomous flight operations. Embraer and ALADA – Empresa de Projetos Aeroespaciais do Brasil S.A., signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at FIDAE to evaluate and explore potential business opportunities in the defense and security market in negotiations requiring government-to-government contracts (G2G, in English). Recently, ALADA was designated by Brazil’s Ministry of Defense as an entity authorized to carry out G2G procurements for the benefit of the Defense Industrial Base.
“The signing of this memorandum will identify and explore potential opportunities in the defense market, enabling countries that require government-to-government contracts to access a new negotiation option for the acquisition of Embraer products and solutions,” said Fabio Caparica, Vice-President of Contracts at Embraer Defense & Security.
“The G2G export is an unprecedented business model in Brazil, in which ALADA plays a strategic and decisive role, opening new market opportunities for aerospace products, services, and projects — with special emphasis on those coming from the Defense Industrial Base,” said Sergio Roberto de Almeida, President of ALADA. Condor Energies, a Canadian based, internationally focused energy transition company with active Central Asian operations has provided an operational update on its Uzbekistan project.
Condor has reached a corporate milestone by exceeding 14,000 boe/d of daily production following the commencement of production from the recently drilled Kumli-46 horizontal well (“K-46”) including total average daily production of 13,938 boe/d for the past seventy-two hours and 14,013 boe/d for the past 24 hours. The well initially flowed at a peak rate of 18.3 MMscf/d (or 3,050 boe/d) but has been restricted to manage the high gas stream velocities. No production decline has been observed in K-45 or K-46 to date, nor is any expected in the near term given the high flowing tubing pressure of over 1,400 psi recorded in K-46 over the past seventy-two hours.
The follow-up Kumli-47 horizontal well (“K-47”) has already drilled to its surface casing point at 509 meters and casing is being run and cemented. K-47 targets the same sucrosic dolomite formation drilled in K-46, providing a high porosity reservoir that yields exceptional gas rate deliverability and is scheduled to reach total depth by mid-May 2026. Concurrently, ongoing workover operations continue to mitigate an annual 20% natural reservoir decline rate observed from the legacy wells. Related News
