Schneider Electric Upgrades Motor Management Solutions
- Holistic approach for motor management solution improves efficiency and saves costs for specifiers, panel builders, facility managers, machine builders, and contractors
- New framework mitigates time and risk design, selection and operation of motor applications on industrial networks
MISSISSAUGA, Ontario–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Schneider Electric, the leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, has upgraded its motor management solutions. The holistic approach provides performance optimization, improved return on investment, and efficiency and sustainability across an entire plant.
Motors are critical assets at the core of all industrial operations. On average, they consume between 60- 95 per cent of the electrical energy in a plant. Boosting process, operation or motor efficiency translates into increased productivity, sustainability, and reliability. The Schneider Electric motor management solutions enable efficiency gains from plant design and build through to operation and maintenance by digitally unifying energy and automation management systems.
The new comprehensive offer portfolio, including the AltivarTM Soft Starter ATS 480, is not limited to motor control and protection. This unique all-in-one offer provides new levels of efficiency across the whole plant, extending across overall installation capital expenditure (CAPEX) and operational expenditure (OPEX). The solution also incorporates Schneider Electric’s domain expertise to tailor its architecture according to the specific market and its challenges. This creates an application with greater electrical design and simulation capabilities, as well as dedicated digital tools.
Using Schneider Electric motor management solutions, customers can expect:
- 40 per cent time saving on selection and quotation
- 25 per cent time saving on installation
- 50 per cent reduction on motor downtime
- 40 per cent cost optimization for motor control management
- 50 per cent energy savings (over direct line motor starters)
“Sustainability is at the core of our purpose at Schneider Electric. We leverage our broad expertise to design and build highly efficient, sustainable, and comprehensive solutions that are specific to our customers’ needs,” says Warren Ma, SVP Industrial Control & Drives at Schneider Electric. “Our motor management solutions help customers cut project costs, lead time, and system footprint by optimizing the devices and components in your system. We ensure power quality of the installation and increase your confidence in motor control and protection by lowering the risk of failure.”
The Altivar™ Soft Starter ATS480
The Altivar™ Soft Starter ATS480 is part of the new motor management offering, marking the next evolution of soft starters with digitalization in mind. The ATS480 reduces engineering time and cost through simplified selection and optimization of the power and plant architecture, as well as securing operations with cyber security best practices, digitally troubleshooting issues and providing constant support.
The ATS480 is designed to address process and infrastructures, simplifying project execution and maximizes the availability of your applications even in the most demanding environments. It builds on the proven robustness and start/stop performance extending the lifetime of the ATS48 equipment and preserving your initial investment by reusing current design.
