Aqua Texas Begins $4M Main Replacement Project in Wimberley Valley
Infrastructure work benefits customers in Woodcreek North community
AUSTIN, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Aqua Texas announced today a $4 million water main replacement project is underway in Hays County. This investment is part of Aqua’s continuing infrastructure improvement program aimed at preserving as much water as possible as it travels from our wells into customers’ homes.
The work kicked off on Monday, April 29 in the Woodcreek North community. Crews will be working to replace 5,000 feet of aging water mains. This is the first phase of the project which will ultimately replace more than 25,000 feet of mains in the community.
“Aqua is focusing a lot of money and time into this community, and my top priority is conserving water and fixing leaks,” said Area Manager Joseph McDaniel. “I’m proud to work with the people who live in Woodcreek to preserve Wimberley’s water resources, both now and in the future.”
Residents in the neighborhood will experience traffic delays and detours primarily along Valley Springs Road, Crazy Cross Road and Sprucewood Drive.
This investment will continue to advance water service reliability, reduce the potential for main breaks and discolored water and improve water flow in the area. Aqua encourages customers to sign up for WaterSmart alerts, an automated service designed for quick, reliable communication about water quality and service in case of disruption. Aqua’s WaterSmart alerts are delivered by phone, text and email.
