Bentley Continental GT wins ‘Best Cars’ award

Bentley Continental GT has won a ‘Best Cars’ award in a poll organised by prestigious German magazine, Auto Motor und Sport. More than 101,000 readers of the highly-influential title voted for their best models from a total of 422 cars, across 12 categories. They chose the class-leading Continental GT in the luxury class import category for the second year in a row.

Powerful and refined, Bentley’s pinnacle Grand Tourer created the modern, luxury Grand Tourer segment when first launched in 2003, blending spirited performance with cutting-edge technology and handcrafted elegance. The latest third generation model, a car that so impressed Auto Motor und Sport readers at the 47th edition of the magazine awards, today offers a unique breadth of touring ability.

With a handcrafted cabin that seamlessly integrates natural materials with advanced, driver-focused features, plus a choice of powerful yet refined V8 and W12 engines, the latest Continental GT is the most dynamic road car Bentley has ever built.

Receiving the award at a ceremony in Stuttgart, Adrian Hallmark, Chairman and CEO of Bentley Motors, commented:

“We are honoured to receive this award from the readers of Auto Motor und Sport magazine, one of the world’s most respected authorities on cars. Over the past 20 years, we have constantly developed the Continental GT and even today, in its third generation, it still defines the segment it first created. To win this award in the luxury class for the second consecutive year makes us extremely proud. Thank you to all those who voted.“

Bentley delivered 15,174 cars in 2022, the first time it has sold more than 15,000 vehicles in a single year. The record-breaking total was a four per cent increase on 2021, with best-ever sales in Europe, the region closing the year with the delivery of 2,809 cars, against a figure of 2,520 in 2021, a double-digit growth with 11 per cent increase and record high, driven by the Continental GT in Europe accounting for almost 50 per cent.
