BWT Alpine Formula One Team mark World Mental Health Day

London, October 10, 2024, (Oilandgaspress) –––BWT Alpine Formula One Team will recognise World Mental Health Day with its groundbreaking Official Mental Health Platform Partner, JAAQ – Just Ask A Question. The partnership, which launched earlier this year, represents a significant step forward in mental health support both within the motorsport industry and globally.
Research reveals 65% of people have faced challenges with their mental health, and 89% believe it is important to talk about it – awareness is higher than ever before. Yet, the mental health crisis continues to worsen, with over 34% of people admitting they never discuss their mental health. *
JAAQ offers a much-needed resource for those seeking to better understand their own mental health or that of their loved ones in a safe and supportive environment.
BWT Alpine Formula One Team drivers Esteban Ocon, Pierre Gasly, and Alpine Academy driver Abbi Pulling have shared their personal stories on JAAQ. Visitors can ask them questions about their mental health and learn how they manage the pressures and anxieties that come with competing in the intense world of motorsport.
Beyond its impact on fans, the partnership has also focused on internal team support. Recognising the mental health challenges faced by employees working in a high-performance environment, JAAQ developed a customised version of its JAAQ at Work platform exclusively for BWT Alpine Formula One Team members.
This tailored solution addresses the unique pressures of working in motorsport, offering a resource that can be accessed globally by team colleagues. Alpine’s Sporting Director Julian Rouse and Chief Financial Officer Gemma Lang are just two of the team members who shared their personal journeys on the platform, sharing how they’ve navigated their own mental health challenges.

Earlier this season, JAAQ Founder and CEO Danny Gray visited the team’s Technical Centre in Enstone to speak with staff about the platform and the purpose behind the partnership. During his visit, Danny shared his own powerful mental health story and discussed JAAQ’s mission to make trusted mental health resources accessible to all. His talk was warmly received by Alpine colleagues, many of whom were inspired to share their own personal experiences, encouraging more members of the team to speak openly about their mental health challenges. Danny also extended the conversation to Alpine’s engineering team during the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in May, reinforcing the importance of mental well-being in high-performance environments.
To mark World Mental Health Day on 10 October, JAAQ will take over BWT Alpine Formula One Team’s social media platforms for a special digital collaboration. The stories of Esteban Ocon, Pierre Gasly, and Abbi Pulling will be shared across the team’s Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, WhatsApp, and LinkedIn channels throughout the day. This exclusive content will offer fans a rare glimpse into how these drivers handle mental health challenges. The aim is to reach as many people as possible, encouraging open conversations about mental health and directing individuals to the valuable resources available on JAAQ.org.
Fans of BWT Alpine Formula One Team who are currently facing challenges with their mental health, or those seeking to support their loved ones, are encouraged to visit JAAQ.org for inspiring content from world-leading clinicians and those with lived experience.
