BYD DOLPHIN and BYD SEAL debut in the Spanish market
BYD (Build Your Dreams), made its debut at Automobile Barcelona 2023 showcasing its electric passenger car range including the first showing of the BYD DOLPHIN, BYD’s new C-segment hatchback and the BYD SEAL, a D-segment Sedan to the spanish public. BYD is accepting reservations for the first deliveries of the BYD DOLPHIN in September 2023, alongside some special Automobile Barcelona show promotions.
The BYD DOLPHIN, an agile and versatile C-Segment hatchback, is available in four versions – Active (the entry level), Boost, Comfort, and top-of-the-line Design – with high levels of practicality, efficiency, accessibility, and a reassuring range, while also being spacious and practical thanks to a 345 litres trunk that can be expanded to 1,310 litres by folding the rear seats flat.
All versions come with a comprehensive range of standard equipment, including an abundance of driving assistance systems. The BYD DOLPHIN is available in three power levels in Spain: (Active) 70 kW/95 hp, (Boost) 130 kW/177 hp, and (Comfort and Design) 150 kW/204 hp, with the highest powered version capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7 seconds. There are two Blade Battery options (depending on the version), with capacities of 44.9 or 60.4 kWh and a combined cycle range of up to 427 km.
The BYD DOLPHIN Active (70 kW/95 hp) is priced at 29,990 euros1; the BYD DOLPHIN Boost is priced at 30,690 euros1; the BYD DOLPHIN Comfort is available at 35,690 euros1; and the top-of-the-range Design is priced at 37,690 euros1. Vehicle reservations made at the Automobile Barcelona show for the range-top Design version will benefit from an additional discount of 2,420 euros, with first deliveries beginning in the September of 2023.
The BYD SEAL, a highly stylised, sporty and dynamic D-segment sedan packed with technology, also makes its Spanish debut to the public. The 8-in-1 electric drivetrain system employs two motors with a combined power of 230 kW (313 hp) in the rear-wheel drive version and 390 kW (530 hp) in the AWD version, which can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds. It has a WLTP combined cycle range of 570 km2 (2WD version) thanks to the ultra-safe Blade Battery with a capacity of 82.5 kWh.
The BYD SEAL uses Cell-to-Body (CTB) technology, which means that the battery is integrated directly into the chassis cradle without the need to be inserted into a battery pack. This innovative design creates more interior space and enhances the aerodynamics of the car, while also producing higher torsional rigidity in the event of collision.
The BYD DOLPHIN and BYD SEAL are built on BYD’s latest e-Platform 3.0 and feature the ‘Ocean Aesthetics’ Design Language. They join the BYD ATTO 3, BYD TANG, and BYD HAN at the show, with BYD being the only brand to present five new 100% electric vehicles.
The same Automobile Barcelona show promotion is also available for the BYD ATTO 3 Design, with an RRP of 42,900 euros1.
