Detroit Locals Volunteer to Help Veterans Stay Warm

Corvias employees work with John D. Dingell VA Medical Center to help Detroit veterans

DETROIT–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The Corvias team based at Wayne State University had another successful year of volunteering their time on behalf of the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center in Detroit to help keep veterans warm this winter season.

“When we thought about how our team could spend our time volunteering, we agreed that providing some warmth and joy to military veterans who gave so much for our country was a great opportunity. Thank you to the VA Medical Center for making it possible,” said Brandi Rami, commercial and residential property director.

Corvias team members purchased 240 coats, gloves, scarves, shoes and boots, bodywash, sweatshirts and long sleeve shirts, and pants. This honors Corvias’ core principle to “generously give back to the communities where we live and work.” Volunteering through an employer leverages workday time and increases impact by delivering a whole team of volunteers to accomplish an activity on a scale no one person could undertake on their own.

The team coordinated with John D. Dingell VA Medical Center to purchase in demand items.

“Being a great community partner is an important part of who we are as a company and is a special part of our culture,” said Corvias CEO, Chris Wilson. “Our team members like to give in different ways, and we think it’s important to meet them where they are and to support them when and where they need it.”
