EHang Signs Agreement to Co-Develop Pilotless eVTOL Industrial Ecosystem

London, December 30, 2024, (Oilandgaspress) ––– EHang Holdings Limited (Nasdaq: EH), a global leader in Urban Air Mobility (UAM) technology, has announced a major development in its efforts to advance the electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) sector. The company has signed a project cooperation agreement with the Management Committee of the Torch High-Tech Industrial Development Zone of Weihai City in Shandong Province, China. This collaboration is focused on establishing comprehensive industry initiatives surrounding pilotless eVTOLs in the rapidly growing low-altitude economy sector in China.

As part of the agreement, EHang has entered into a purchase agreement with Weihai High-Tech Zone Cultural and Tourism Industry Investment Co., Ltd. for the first batch of 30 EH216-S pilotless passenger eVTOLs. Notably, full payment for the order has already been completed.

Both parties will work together to create a research and development and manufacturing base for the pilotless eVTOLs in Shandong, which will serve as EHang’s production hub in the region. In addition, EHang and Weihai High-Tech Zone will jointly develop a low-altitude economy industrial park, with the aim of integrating the local low-altitude economy with cultural tourism and other industries. This collaboration aims to accelerate the development and clustering of the low-altitude economy within the Weihai High-Tech Zone, positioning it as a key area for the future growth of eVTOL technologies and their applications.

This partnership represents a significant step for EHang, expanding its presence and capabilities in the burgeoning urban air mobility market while supporting the low-altitude economy growth in China.
