Energy / Automotive News Roundup

London, April 01, 2025 (Oilandgaspress) –-Tariffs are meant to reinvigorate US manufacturing, but there is more concern about what they mean for supply chains and the prospect of foreign retaliation right now, amidst signs of a cooling domestic economy. US manufacturing moves back into contraction territory. Today’s US data are in general softer than hoped. The ISM manufacturing index for March dropped to 49.0 from 50.3, lower than the 49.5 consensus and back in contraction territory. This is broadly in line with regional manufacturing indicators released in recent days. The details show big drops in employment (44.7 from 47.6) and new orders (45.2 from 48.6) with production down at 48.3 versus 50.7. Remember 50 is the break-even level so anything above is expansion and the further below 50 the deeper the downturn. This suggests that tariff fears (impact on supply chains and potential reciprocal action from foreign trading partners) are hurting the sector right now. Note too the big rise in prices paid to 69.4 from
62.4, which suggests pre-emptive moves ahead of the imposition of tariffs with the threat of higher prices for consumers looking very real. Below is a chart of manufacturing production growth (YoY%) versus the ISM production index. Read Related News

ProSep Achieves Inter-Continental Growth & Success
Emphasizing the impressive capabilities of its Multiphase Adjustable Xtreme (MAX+) mixer technology, integrated process solutions provider ProSep is on an impressive streak across multiple continents thanks to the adoption of its high-efficiency mixer.
Key to ProSep’s portfolio of differentiated technologies, the MAX+ mixer for crude desalting helps reduce chemical and wash water consumption, cut operational costs, enhances efficiency, and enables higher production rates. Separate operators in central Europe, central and Midwest America, and the Arabian Peninsula are all experiencing these benefits first-hand.

These recent endorsements signify a successful trend of greater use and awareness of ProSep’s high-efficiency mixers. These projects, which have been consecutively secured over the past two years, are all in varying stages of completion. Projects in the US and the Middle East are set for installation in the spring, while on-site testing is currently ongoing for the customer in central Europe.
ProSep anticipates that results for all four projects will be gathered in Q3 this year, with early results from the central European mixer showing significant improvements in the desalting process.
Despite the geographical differences between the projects, all four validate strategic aims set by ProSep’s leadership team to gain traction in the respective regions and support local energy infrastructure.
ProSep European Sales Manager Jacek Kacperski has led the key European project. He commented: “Our MAX+ mixer driving success across three continents simultaneously testifies to its capabilities and how the market is eager to explore operational efficiency improvements. In past projects, we have demonstrated how MAX+, through homogeneous distribution and effective wash water mixing, can improve the separation of wash water and crude oil mixture in downstream desalting vessels. . Opel presented a completely new automotive concept at the Geneva Motor Show that broke the boundaries of what had previously been imaginable. Its name: Opel MAXX. The design of the MAXX made reality what previously seemed unattainable – a car of which the space, equipment and appearance could be tailored exactly to individual requirements and taste. And that could also be adapted to the changing needs of the owner over time. With the MAXX, the Rüsselsheim-based company showed a vision of the future for a possible entry into the Opel world 30 years ago – all garnished with other innovative solutions and a highly efficient drive concept.

Today, the entry into the Opel world is small, manoeuvrable and even locally emissions-free. The best thing about it: In Germany, the all-electric Opel Rocks can be driven by young people aged 15 and over1. As a result, young drivers can now be mobile on four wheels even earlier than the developers would have dreamed of at the premiere of the MAXX 30 years ago. How much individual mobility, flexibility and style is possible in a small space, however, was demonstrated by the designers and developers of the MAXX as early as 1995.
