Mercedes-Benz and Mercedes-AMG present the new pushchair collection developed with the German pushchair manufacturer Hartan: the All-Terrain, Avantgarde and Performance models and the AMG GT². The highlight is the new, innovative “Vegan Leatherette” material, which is reminiscent of fine leather both visually and to the touch, but does not contain any animal products. This high-tech fibre is extremely hard-wearing, very breathable and impresses with its durability, as verified in 100,000 so-called abrasion cycles. The AMG GT² combines sportiness, flexibility and maximum ride comfort in a very special way. This model will also be available as an exclusive limited edition, limited to 299 units worldwide. The pushchairs were developed in close co-operation with the Mercedes-Benz design department, are TÜV-tested and – like all Hartan products – meet the highest standards in terms of material selection and manufacturing quality. Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Corporation have unveiled the Universal Wheel Drive System — called ‘Uni Wheel’ — at ‘Uni Wheel Tech Day’ in Seoul, Korea. This paradigm-shifting vehicle drive system will revolutionize the design of future mobility devices.
Uni Wheel is a functionally integrated wheel drive system that dramatically improves available space inside an electric vehicle (EV) by moving the main drive system components to the vacant space within the wheel hub. In doing so, Hyundai Motor and Kia have designed a completely new structure for the drive system.
In internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles power is transmitted from the engine through the transmission and to the wheels via drive shafts and constant velocity (CV) joints. In EVs, the engine and transmission are replaced by a motor and reduction gear, but the final method of transmission to the wheels is the same. Read full article

Opel will soon offer the new Corsa with 48-volt hybrid technology for the first time. The system features a lithium-ion battery that is recharged automatically under certain driving conditions and new 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engines with 74 kW/100 hp and 100 kW/136 hp that have been developed especially for the hybrid application. The engines are coupled to a new electrified six-speed dual clutch transmission and a 21 kW/28 hp electric motor.
Efficient, fun to drive and user-friendly, 48V hybrid technology is ideal for the new Opel Corsa. Compared with the similar non-electrified Corsa 1.2 with eight-speed automatic transmission (fuel consumption in the WLTP cycle: 5.5-5.4 l/100 km; 125-122 g/km CO2, both combined), the 74 kW/100 hp new Corsa Hybrid with the 48V technology (WLTP1 fuel consumption: 4.7-4.6 l/100 km; 106-102 g/km CO2, both combined) can save nearly 1.0 l/100 km of fuel (around 15 per cent) and also reduce CO2 emissions. Seamless: Petrol engine and electric motor operate together or separately
In everyday driving, on a mixture of city and country roads, the Opel Corsa Hybrid’s petrol engine and the electric motor operate together or separately to optimise energy consumption and performance. The system offers advantages above all in city traffic. Read full article

Baker Hughes is pioneering a first-of-its-kind approach in the geothermal energy sector. This low corrosive, in-situ acidizing system represents a novel method of harnessing geothermal energy with improved safety and enhanced production.
A standout feature of ThermaStim is its zero reactivity and corrosivity at surface. Where traditional acids in geothermal wells often react immediately near wellbore, ThermaStim activates deeper in the formation under the high temperature conditions found in geothermal formations. This unique quality ensures deeper penetration into the reservoir with low fluid volumes, allowing for improved stimulation.
Moreover, while many conventional solutions demand 40 percent or greater of the total fluid cost due to inhibition, ThermaStim saves cost on corrosion inhibitors. The in-situ acid generation triggered by temperature allows for protection of wellbore tubulars and downhole equipment without the need for an expensive corrosion package. It is safer on metallurgy and better for wellbore integrity, allowing operators to focus on production goals. Read More
Audi has improved the RS Q e-tron rally car once again. Ahead of its third outing in the Dakar Rally, the rally car with its pioneering electric drivetrain featuring a high-voltage battery and energy converter has received multiple innovative upgrades. Toyota is celebrating the joy in creating holiday memories with family through a message about spreading love this season. “Present from the Past,” the first of two Toyota holiday ads, debuted last night during NBC’s primetime special, “Christmas in Rockefeller Center,” with a personalized throw from a show host.
“Present from the Past” tells the story of a young woman who receives a Christmas gift from her grandmother. Inside the package is a vintage camera and a collection of her grandmother’s photos from when she was the granddaughter’s age. Inspired by the camera and with the help of her all-new 2024 Tacoma, the granddaughter decides to recreate the old photos of her grandmother by going to all the same places. Over the course of the following year, she journeys far and wide across the country: to bustling cities, desert canyons, heartland pastures, tranquil forests, secluded coastlines, small town attractions, and beyond. In the final scene, she arrives at her grandmother’s home just in time for Christmas, surprising her with a photo album she’s created from her travels, alongside her grandmother’s photos from the past. Her grandmother becomes overwhelmed with emotion from her granddaughter’s thoughtful gift. “Present from the Past” was created by Saatchi & Saatchi and directed by Lisa Gunning. Read More
