Eni extends support to Libya following floods
London, 20 September, 2023, (Oilandgaspress) – Following the devastating floods that have hit Libya last week as a result of storm Daniel, Eni, in cooperation with the Libyan National Oil Corporation (NOC)’s emergency committee, has mobilized the provision of supplies, rescue teams, and critical equipment to support the people affected by the disaster.
So far, Eni has supplied medicines and medical equipment, food supplies, hygiene kits, temporary shelters and bedding (including tents, beds, blankets, pillows), as well as mobile electricity generators.
Through joint venture Mellitah Oil and Gas, Eni and NOC have also provided logistical support in the form of supply vessels, helicopters, and rescue trucks equipped with food and drinking water, internet communication units, and emergency rescue and medical teams.
Eni has been present in Libya since 1959, Its operations are carried out through a Eni-NOC joint venture, namely Mellitah Oil and Gas.
