Eni strengthens cooperation in Italy

Eni’s CEO, Claudio Descalzi, and the Head of the Civil Protection Department, Fabrizio Curcio, signed a four-year Memorandum of Understanding today. The agreement further strengthens their cooperation and establishes specific emergency plans for each type of risk that could affect the continuity of energy supply in Italy.

It also includes the establishment of a joint working group to achieve objectives in areas of common interest. In particular, it aims to ensure:

the optimisation of procedures and communication flow in both ordinary and emergency conditions, including the possible integration of the respective territorial information systems; the development of joint training modules and exercises to increase the understanding of each other’s organisational and intervention models and enhance the capacity for synergistic response; the facilitation of interaction between Eni, companies, institutions and the regional branches of the National Civil Protection Service (Regions, Provinces and Prefectures), with a particular focus on civil protection planning.

Claudio Descalzi, CEO of Eni, commented, “Today’s agreement further consolidates our long-standing collaboration with the Civil Protection Department. The aim is to establish optimal and efficient coordination in emergency situations, throughout the entire energy value cycle, from production to transport and distribution, and in all areas where the use of company resources is required to protect the community.”
