Eni’s PRO-Jeunes project promotes the integration of young people into the Ivorian labour market
London, March 20, 2025, (Oilandgaspress) –– Eni today announced the delivery of training certificates to 133 participants of the PRO-Jeunes project, which promotes employment opportunities for young people aged between 18 and 35 in partnership with the non-governmental organization International Rescue Committee (IRC) and Iveco Group.
Launched in July 2023, the initiative involves a total of 300 young people by offering vocational education in the fields of automotive mechanics, electronics, and renewable energy. The aim is to strengthen the participants’ technical skills in areas with a high demand for skilled personnel, supporting them in the job search and self-entrepreneurship paths.
The project contributes to the Ivorian government’s youth employment objectives, which aim to provide young people with the necessary know-how to support the country’s growth and promote their socio-economic integration. It also aims to reduce inequalities between men and women in access to vocational education.
Among the strengths of the initiative is the virtuous collaboration between private sector, NGOs, local institutions and vocational training centres, such as the Vocational High School for Automotive in Vridi, the Vocational High School for Building in Koumassi and the Vocational High School in Ferkessédougou to ensure access to quality specialised education.
Eni has been operating in Côte d’Ivoire since 2015 through a wide range of projects ranging from hydrocarbon production to the development of new energy sources, integrating the country into the biofuels value chain. In addition, the company is engaged in initiatives to improve access to healthcare and education, in line with its commitment to a just energy transition.
