Everfuel and Better Energy to collaborate on green power for PtX Holstebro, project
Everfuel has entered into a cooperation agreement with Better Energy to contribute to the Holstebro PtX project with green energy.
Wind turbines and solar cells on land need to deliver four times more than today, necessary for Denmark to be able to achieve the goal of reducing CO2 emissions by 70% in 2030. It is a prerequisite that energy parks cannot solely be allocated to supply electric cars and heat pumps with new green power if Denmark’s next business adventure within hydrogen and Power-to-X (PtX) is to be supported.
” Independent energy supply has never been more important than it is today. The potential for the development of PtX in Holstebro is enormous, but the condition for it to succeed is of course that there is access to locally produced green electricity. Therefore, a solar park in Tvis is crucial to the success of the project.” says Jacob Krogsgaard, CEO of Everfuel.
“Together with a number of local landowners, we have explored the possibilities for a new solar park, and currently it seems that it may be possible to settle nature, climate, and local considerations regarding the establishment. A very good starting point has been created to involve neighbours, citizens, the Tvis Citizens’ Association and other interested parties in the actual idea development,” says Esben Billeskov, Executive Vice President.
The proposed solar park is located between two high-voltage power lines and a direct line from the park to Everfuel’s hydrogen production could potentially be built. On 14 February, Better Energy applied to Holstebro Municipality for the establishment of the solar park.
