Exelon Announces Senior Leadership Appointments

Carim Khouzami to serve as Exelon’s chief transmission and development officer, Tamla Olivier named president and CEO of BGE, an Exelon company

CHICAGO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Exelon Corp. (Nasdaq: EXC) announced today that Carim Khouzami, president and chief executive officer of Exelon operating company BGE, is taking on the role of executive vice president, Transmission and Development for Exelon. Khouzami will be responsible for transmission operations across all Exelon regions while preparing the company to meet the unprecedented growth in energy demand. He will also ensure strong partnerships are in place to provide Exelon with the resources and services needed to fulfill its long-term strategic plan and future success. Khouzami will continue to serve on Exelon’s Executive Committee.

Tamla Olivier, senior vice president and chief operating officer of Exelon operating company Pepco Holdings, has been promoted to president and CEO of BGE. Olivier will lead Maryland’s largest electric and natural gas delivery company serving more than 1.3 million electric customers and 700,000 gas customers in central Maryland and will join Exelon’s Executive Committee.

Khouzami and Olivier’s new roles will be effective on May 1.

“We pride ourselves on our depth of talent at Exelon and we were pleased to further strengthen our company by appointing these leaders who have grown and excelled at the company,” said Exelon President and CEO Calvin Butler. “Carim’s expertise in identifying opportunities and building successful models in periods of transformation is especially needed in our current industry environment. Tamla’s customer focus and skills in nurturing a high-engagement, high-performance culture will ensure BGE’s customers, employees and communities in central Maryland thrive. I’m excited to see what these phenomenal leaders will accomplish in their new roles.”

Khouzami is a 20-year veteran of the company. Prior to his most recent role at BGE, he served as the chief operating officer of Exelon Utilities, overseeing the administrative and operational functions for Exelon’s six utilities and managing large infrastructure investments across all regions. Khouzami also served as chief financial officer of Exelon Utilities and chief integration officer during Exelon’s merger with Constellation Energy in 2012.

Olivier, who joined Exelon nearly 15 years ago, has been leading operations for Pepco Holdings’ three utilities since 2021, serving customers in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland and New Jersey. During Olivier’s tenure the company achieved its highest reliability rankings and delivered large-scale infrastructure upgrades, bringing a range of benefits to customers and communities. Olivier will be returning to BGE where she served as senior vice president of customer operations and chief customer officer before assuming her current role at Pepco Holdings. Prior to that, she was the president and CEO of BGE Home, a provider of direct-to-customer home improvement services.

She is active in several organizations that serve the Maryland region, serving on the Board of Directors for MedStar Health and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Washington. She is also the vice-chair for Catholic Charities of Maryland and co-chair of the women’s leadership council for the My Sister’s Place Women’s Center.

Olivier’s successor as chief operating officer at Pepco Holdings will be named in the coming weeks.
