Ferrari supports equality, equity and inclusion

London, November 26, 2024, (Oilandgaspress) ––– Ferrari stands alongside Formula 1 and the FIA subscribing the Diversity and Inclusion Charter, presented today, continuing its commitment in supporting and developing topics of equality, equity and inclusion..

The new document is the result of a report for the 2021 Hamilton Commission and reflects recent research and recommendations from Mission 44, the association created by Lewis Hamilton to promote strategic collaboration on D&I in motorsport.

Adherence to the Charter is part of a broader programme by Ferrari to promote equality, fairness and inclusion in its working environment and wider society.

Ferrari has held Equal-Salary certification since 2020, which attests to fair pay for employees regardless of gender. This is supported by rigorous audits that examine salary policies and company culture, and takes into account input from employees themselves. In addition, inclusive recruitment practices have been introduced to promote the reduction of gender gaps, particularly in leadership roles.

Last year, initiatives to support shared parenting and improve employees’ work-life balance were strengthened. Key measures include the extension of paid leave for parents of children up to the age of 10, as well as more agile working opportunities for new parents.

With the aim of promoting cultural change from an early age, Ferrari has joined ‘Inspiring Girls”, an initiative that puts female professionals, scientists, athletes and managers into secondary school classrooms to encourage girls and boys to ignore the often self-imposed limitations in their life paths, and to follow their ambitions, whatever they may be.

With the same desire to offer everyone equal opportunities for personal and professional growth, Ferrari is committed to promoting STEM disciplines (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) beyond all barriers and prejudices. This is why it is part of the Gender and Diversity Empowerment Committee of MUNER (Motorvehicle University of Emilia-Romagna), which aims to promote initiatives related to gender balance, equal opportunities and professional inclusion.

Internally, the company offers training programmes on D&I to create an environment based on mutual respect. Workshops and campaigns focus on unconscious biases and are designed to educate on inclusive language and behaviour.

As a global sport followed in over 180 countries by people of all ages and social backgrounds, Formula 1 is an ideal environment to grow ideas and spread practices that inspire the broad change that promotes inclusion.
