Goodbye ITIL® – PeopleCert Ends Partnership with Pink Elephant

BURLINGTON, Ontario–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#ITSM–Pink Elephant’s almost 40-year history with ITIL® is coming to an end. By a letter dated May 15, 2023, PeopleCert, the owner of ITIL®, served notice that it is terminating its relationship with Pink Elephant. In the letter sent by email to Pink Elephant President David Ratcliffe, no reason was given for the termination, which is expected to become effective as of June 16, 2023. Pink will do its best to manage the cessation of ITIL® training and transition away from the ITIL® scheme of certification courses in the short time given to it by PeopleCert.

We are committed to minimizing any disruption to the many hundreds of clients who have purchased current and future ITIL® certification courses,” says Ratcliffe. “We have contingency plans in place and are dedicated to meeting each respective client’s IT Service Management training needs. Our customer service team is now reaching out to our many affected customers.” Ratcliffe goes on to say, “It is regrettable that this once very strong relationship between Pink and PeopleCert has ended in this fashion.”

But Pink will now turn to the future, which is bright,” added Ratcliffe. “When one door closes, another door opens. We’re excited that, in the coming weeks, we will be providing new courses that are part of the Integrated IT Service Management designation scheme.” He adds, “We will always be proud of the multitude of acclaimed contributions and many firsts that Pink Elephant has made to ITIL that include being the very first organization to implement ITIL best practices and the very first organization to create and deliver ITIL training courses. But we’re now ready to move on. There are many more flavors of IT Service Management outside of ITIL.”
