Ideal Electric Power Co. Acknowledges Court Acceptance of Counterclaims in Ongoing Litigation with Louis Allis, LLC and Upcoming Trial Date

MANSFIELD, Ohio–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#GenuineIDEAL–Ideal Electric Power Co. d/b/a The Ideal Electric Company (“IDEAL”) today announced a significant development in the ongoing litigation with Louis Allis, LLC. On June 18, 2024, the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware accepted IDEAL’s amended counterclaims in Case No. 1:23-cv-00980-CFC and set a jury trial to begin on April 13, 2026.

Through its counterclaims, IDEAL seeks various forms of relief, including: cancellation of Louis Allis, LLC’s registration of the “Louis Allis” name and brand under 15 U.S.C. §1064 and 18 U.S.C. §1001, including for making false statements to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office; damages against Louis Allis, LLC including for trademark infringement and unfair competition under the Lanham Act, 15 U.S.C. §1125(a); damages against Louis Allis, LLC for unfair competition under Delaware law; damages against Louis Allis, LLC for conversion under Delaware law; damages against Louis Allis, LLC for false advertising under 15 U.S.C. §1125(a); declaratory judgment against Louis Allis under 28 U.S.C. §2201(a); and a preliminary and permanent injunction against Louis Allis, LLC, enjoining and prohibiting Louis Allis, LLC from use of the “Louis Allis” name, brand and mark in commerce, and enjoining Louis Allis, LLC from unfairly competing with IDEAL including by using IDEAL’s intellectual property.
