Intersect Named to Fast Company’s World’s Most Innovative Companies of 2025 List
SAN FRANCISCO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Intersect Power, LLC (“Intersect”) has been named to Fast Company’s prestigious list of World’s Most Innovative Companies of 2025. Intersect has been recognized for improving energy security and stability of the Texas power grid by adding nearly 1 GWh of standalone battery energy storage systems at a rapid pace to meet growing power demand.
To determine honorees, Fast Company’s editors and writers review companies driving progress around the world and across industries, evaluating thousands of submissions through a competitive application process. This year’s list shines a spotlight on businesses that are shaping industry and culture through their innovations to set new standards and achieve remarkable milestones in all sectors of the economy.
“As the megatrends of decarbonization, digitalization, and electrification accelerate, we are seeing load shift to clean generation at an unprecedented scale, driving demand for new energy solutions. Battery energy storage systems play a critical role in this transition to meet the surging energy needs of AI,” said Sheldon Kimber, CEO and Founder of Intersect Power. “As one of the largest battery storage operators in the country, we’re honored that Fast Company has recognized our team’s ability to bring 1 GWh of battery storage online on an accelerated timeline to support Texas’ growing energy demand.”
For these battery energy storage systems, Intersect secured one of the largest U.S. battery storage transactions to date totaling an impressive $837 million in financing commitments for the construction and operation and in just one year, brought the systems to completion.
Intersect develops, owns, and operates some of the country’s largest battery storage resources at its solar + storage facilities. The company’s 2.4 GWh battery storage portfolio can flexibly dispatch reliable, clean energy during critical moments of grid instability. Intersect plans to break ground on an additional 4 GW of solar PV and 10 GWh of battery storage in 2025 as it builds co-located facilities to meet the unprecedented energy demands of AI data centers and additional grid-tied energy resources.
Intersect Power is on an aggressive growth trajectory and is actively recruiting talented professionals. For information on Intersect Power’s current open roles, visit https://jobs.lever.co/intersectpower.
