Jones Power Advances Civil Construction on Major Solar Development in Texas

Jones Selected as Civil Contractor at 1,250-Acre Site, 252-Megawatt Clean Energy Project

HATTIESBURG, Miss.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Jones Power continues their growth in the renewable energy sector with a 1,250-acre project in South Central Texas. With Texas leading the nation in solar and battery energy storage development, this project further strengthens Jones Power’s position as a major player in the region’s renewable energy construction market.

Jones Power’s comprehensive work began in September of 2024 and includes site preparation, civil construction, and critical infrastructure components including access road construction with geotextile reinforcement, installation of sediment control systems, significant earthwork operations, construction of multiple sediment basins, installation of drainage culverts, and the development of laydown yards, all designed to ensure proper site management and environmental protection throughout the construction process.

This solar project represents another significant milestone for Jones Power as we continue to expand our presence in Texas’s growing renewable energy market,” said Jones Power CEO, John Clark. “Our team’s extensive experience in civil construction for utility-scale solar projects puts Jones Power in a great position to deliver value for our clients through the completion of another successful project.”

The construction of this 252-megawatt development expands Jones Power’s portfolio of renewable energy projects while reinforcing the company’s position as a leading civil contractor in the utility-scale solar sector. The scope and complexity of this development demonstrates Jones Power’s ongoing commitment to supporting the expansion of renewable energy infrastructure across the United States.
