Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut breaks 0-400-0 km/h record – again

London, July 02 2024 , (Oilandgaspress) ––– Koenigsegg Automotive confirmed its status as manufacturer of the world’s most innovative, extreme-performance, fully homologated megacars by breaking its own 0-400-0 km/h world record on June 27th at an airfield in Örebro, Sweden.

In 2023, at the same airfield, the Koenigsegg Regera reclaimed the 0-400-0 km/h world record with a time of 28.81 seconds.

In 2024, we returned with a Koenigsegg Jesko to do it all over again. Plus a little more!

The model chosen was a Jesko Absolut, driven by Koenigsegg test driver, Markus Lundh. The Jesko in ‘Absolut’ trim is designed specifically for straight-line speed. Its body is designed with a smaller frontal area, limited and targeted venting for the release of high-pressure air, and no active aero, all intended to minimize drag. Consequentially, the Jesko Absolut has one of the lowest drag ratings in the hypercar world, with a Cd of just 0.278.

This minimal drag figure helped the Jesko Absolut complete the 0-400-0 km/h run in just 27.83 seconds, shaving nearly a full second from the previous record time set by the Regera in 2023.

Koenigsegg Gemera Interior

In fact, in just one run from standstill to 412 km/h and back to zero, the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut set FOUR new world records for a fully homologated, standard production car.

0-400-0 km/h – 27.83 seconds

0-400 km/h – 18.82 seconds

0-250-0 mph – 28.27 seconds

0-250 mph – 19.20 seconds

Conditions and vehicle

The run was conducted in the early hours of Thursday, June 27th, 2024, at an airfield in Örebro, Sweden.

Preliminary runs were conducted on Wednesday, June 26th, however the ambient air and track temperatures were higher than optimal to record the times we believed the Jesko Absolut was capable of.

At 5 am on Thursday, June 27th, however, both ambient air and track temperatures were considerably lower, and the wind was calm – perfect conditions to set some new world records!

The car used was a Jesko Absolut running in standard, as-delivered condition, running on E85 fuel and standard Michelin Pilot Sport Cup2 R tires. The only modifications made to the car were the addition of a roll cage for driver safety and a One:1 driver seat, the driver’s preference for such events.

Data was recorded using industry-standard timing equipment from Racelogic and verified by Racelogic HQ in the United Kingdom.
