London, March 18, 2025 (Oilandgaspress) –-Nearly half (44%) of energy and natural resources (ENR) executives now expect the world to reach net-zero emissions by 2070 or later, a steep jump from the 31% that felt this way in 2024. Similarly, only 32% expect it by 2050 — a reversal from previous surveys, when around 40% to 50% foresaw net zero by 2050. On average, oil and gas executives anticipate peak oil around 2038, a clear signal that sector leaders expect legacy assets to play a crucial role in meeting energy demand for the foreseeable future. Bain’s annual survey of more than 700 executives across oil and gas, utilities, chemicals, mining, and agribusiness offers a pulse check on industry leaders’ views on the energy transition’s challenges and opportunities, providing perspective on how they’re balancing those investments with other business priorities.
Financial viability a major obstacle for the energy transition. The era of enthusiasm for environmental, social, and corporate governance–driven investment is giving way to a harder-nosed focus on ROI. Tighter budgets, constrained balance sheets, and rapidly rising capital costs are forcing companies to make tough calls about where to place their bets.. Read Related News

As a result, Patrick Cresswell, co-founder of the EV experts ClearWatt, suggested that it could make now the best time to get behind the wheel of an affordable electric model. . Read Related News

Electric cars may face a “looming crisis” with more motorists opting for SUVs over zero-emission models.

According to the data specialists, this is up 3% on 2023 and 5% on sales figures recorded in 2022. In Europe, sales of SUVs are now a lot higher than those of electric vehicles in a stark change compared to recent years. Read Related News

Much more than a car brand, Porsche is a lifestyle – with a global community brought together, regardless of nationality, by a mutual passion. Meet the dedicated German couple who are the living embodiment of this ethos as they rack up thousands of kilometres – and forge lifelong friendships – across the United States.
For many Porsche enthusiasts, a road trip is that rarest of things – a fleeting few days away from the routine of daily life. But for German couple Christian and Ortrun Hartinger, the road trip is the routine. Having driven extensively around Germany and Europe since they met in 2010, over the past three years the couple have turned their attention to the US, driving more than 160,000 kilometres (100,000 miles) there from behind the wheel of their own 911 models.
The Hartingers came to the Porsche brand in very different ways. Christian grew up in Bavaria in the 1970s and remembers the familiar sight of the original 911 Turbo while playing Top Trumps as a small boy. In the 1980s he would visit the Frankfurt Motor Show each year, transfixed by the Porsche stand and the ever-evolving outline of the 911. Read More
